Antifibrinolytic activity in normal pregnancy.
It is found that serum antifibrinolytic activity is inhibitory both to the spontaneous fibrinolytic activity and to the activity of streptokinase-activated plasminogen. The titres of serum antiplasmin activity during gestation, labour, and the puerperium are all of the same order and do not differ from those in non-pregnant women. The marked decrease in the spontaneous fibrinolytic activity in ...
متن کاملFibrinolytic and antifibrinolytic activity in pregnancy.
Fibrinolytic activity and serum antifibrinolysin were estimated in normal pregnant women, during and after labour. The decreased fibrinolytic activity found during labour returned to non-pregnant levels within 24 hours of delivery. During the same period, the serum antifibrinolysin was rapidly diminished. It is suggested that the post-partum increase in fibrinolytic activity to non-pregnant lev...
متن کاملAntifibrinolytic therapy with tranexamic acid in pregnancy and postpartum.
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is critically to review the available evidence regarding the use, efficacy and safety of tranexamic acid in the management of hemorrhage during pregnancy and for prevention and treatment of postpartum hemorrhage. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS We performed a systematic search of electronic literature (PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Scopus, Cochrane, DARE) to review all s...
متن کاملChanges in Serum Adenosine Deaminase Activity during Normal Pregnancy
Adenosine deaminase (ADA), an enzyme essential for the differentiation of lymphoid cells, has been used for monitoring diseases with altered immunity. The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in serum ADA activity throughout normal pregnancy. We measured the catalytic values of serum ADA from 202 normal pregnant women using a commercial kit. Subjects were divided into four group...
متن کاملErythrocyte and plasma cholinesterase activity in normal pregnancy.
Erythrocyte acetylcholinesterase and plasma cholinesterase was estimated in 50 normal pregnant women and 22 age matched normal non-pregnant women. Plasma cholinesterase was significantly decreased while erythrocyte cholinesterase was significantly increased during pregnancy. These changes may be related to altered haemodynamics and or other inter-related changes occurring in pregnancy.
